Shareholder, Managing Attorney

Tom Slaten is a shareholder and Managing Attorney of Larsen Slaten, PLLC. He received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Oklahoma College of Law in 1994. He has been a member of the Florida Bar since 1995 and is also admitted to practice before the United States District Courts for both the Middle District of Florida and the Southern District of Florida.


Mr. Slaten began his legal career as a prosecutor with the State Attorney’s Office in Ft. Myers, Florida. Subsequent to his position as an Assistant State Attorney, he served as a Civil Litigator practicing in areas of insurance and commercial law. Mr. Slaten joined the firm in 2003 and has subsequently concentrated his practice in the area of community association law and representation for over 20 years. Mr. Slaten is active in community association matters and has served as a Board Member of the Community Association Institute (“CAI”), Mid-Florida Chapter. He is currently appointed as a Member of the Florida Legislative Alliance, an organization which advocates for improvements in laws governing community associations.


Mr. Slaten is certified by the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation to teach courses in community association law. He regularly teaches board member certification courses and legal update classes. He is a regular speaker at Community Association Institute educational programs.
